The 2011 tour is scheduled to hit NSW, QLD, SA, VIC, WA and TAS running from February to March 2011. The lineup is filled with films that convey a passion for travel and exploration partnered with live Australian music. Filmmakers have been on the road capturing swell, adventure and discovery and are collaborating to be part of this extraordinary blend of elements that is the Australian Surf Movie Festival s 9th annual event. With raw creative undertones and the Walkabout theme, the 2011 tour promises to stimulate the desire to explore. In the spirit of discovery, ASMF 2011 presents a multifaceted evening incorporating projects from the new Who is J.O.B. to the visually stimulating mosaic of Tim Bonython s footage collected on the road during 2010, ASMF incorporates a classic roster of household surf names such as Taylor Steele, Matt Hoy, Ry Crake and Jamie O Brien. Hosted by ideally distinctive venues, ASMF 2011 offers a fine balance for the festivalgoer s experience with unique musicians and live performances by Juzzie Smith, Laura Hill, Band of Frequencies and more. As Tim Bonython Productions has always been a strong supporter of surfing associated not-for-profits, ASMF 2011 has dedicated support to Surfrider Foundation Australia and SurfAid International. In addition to an invigorating evening of surf adventure and tunes, ASMF will be giving away surf gear door prizes at every event. Designed to deliver a multifaceted excursion through film, travel, music, nature and a passionate approach to surfing, ASMF’s 2011 Walkabout conveys a blend of the traditional exploration fused with the evolution of a progressively shared love for the ocean, a festival created from the very heart of Australian surf culture. |
